Keynote Speaker - Maureen A. Sherbondy

Maureen Sherbondy’s poems have appeared in The Oakland Review, Plainsongs, Calyx, Feminist Studies, European Judaism, 13th Moon, Comstock Review, Cairn, Crucible, The Roanoke Review, the News & Observer, and other publications.

Her poems have won first place in The Deane Ritch Lomax Poetry Prize, The Lyricist Statewide Poetry Contest, The Carrie McCray Poetry Award, and The Hart Crane Memorial Poetry Award. The Year of Dead Fathers won the Spring Garden Robert Watson Poetry Award (UNC-Greensboro).

She has published eight additional poetry books and one short story collection. Her forthcoming poetry book (Dancing with Dali) will be released in February.

Maureen holds a BA degree from Rutgers University. She received her MFA from Queens University of Charlotte. She teaches English at Alamance Community College. Visit her website at www.maureensherbondy.com. Previous radio interviews can be heard on NPR’s The State of Things.
