CEI Workload
Study
The charge given the Workload Task Force in October 1995 at the Valle
Crucis CEI Fall Conference was to research and make workload
recommendations to take effect with semester conversion in fall 1997.
This is a reprint of the article published in the CEI Newsletter in 1996. The findings and recommendations are still relevant.
Communication
Skills in the Workplace
This article is reprinted from the March 1996 issue of the CEI
Newsletter. Instructors may wish to use this document to motivate
their students to develop effective communication skills.
Communication
Competencies
This article was published in the Fall 1995 issue of the CEI
Newsletter. It was submitted to the chief academic officer and the
department chair or lead English instructor in each of the 58 community
colleges in North Carolina. The information was used by writing teams
who developed course syllabi for the Common Course Library. This
document is published now by CEI to provide guidance and suggestions for
instructors. Instructors may find the competencies and acquisition and
assessment strategies useful as they develop course objectives and
assignments for their reading, composition, literature, humanities, and
speech classes.
