| | The CEI Fall Conference 2005 will be held at the Sheraton Atlantic Beach Oceanfront Hotel in Atlantic Beach, NC, Sunday, October 23, through Tuesday, October 25. The CEI Board, whose members are from all regions of the state, will host the conference, titled "Navigating Competency:
Charting the Future." This title reflects the theme of the "Transforming the English Curriculum Institute" held at Atlantic Beach, NC, from March 27 to March 31, 1995, also at the Sheraton Atlantic Beach. One result of that institute was the Communications Competencies, which were developed and published by CEI.
