If you want to remove only selected items in the digital drop box, you must remove them one by one by entering the drop box via the Control Panel and clicking the "remove" button beside each file that you want to remove. If you want to keep some of the items for your own records, you can always right click on the link to the drop box file and save it on your computer. Then you can remove all files at once from the drop box by going to the Control Panel and clicking the "Recycle Course" link near the lower left column. Then check "Dropbox," type the word "Remove" in the lower right corner, and click "Submit."
If you are going to ask students to submit files regularly, you will easily lose track of them in the Digital Drop Box since they are listed by date of submission rather than by student, type of assignment, etc. Instead, you can create a Learning Unit Assignment whenever you want students to submit work. The Learning Unit Assignment feature of Blackboard keeps the files in alphabetical order in the gradebook. See this section of Blackboard Instructor Help:
