The Blackboard Quiz Manager gives you the ability to create a quiz by drawing questions from a question pool created in the Pool Manager or by creating questions one at a time by first selecting a question type such as multiple choice, multiple answer, fill in the blank, matching, and ordering phrases in the correct order. A shortcut to this method, however, is to use Notepad to create a list of questions and then copy and paste the text into a quiz generator box. You will then click the "create quiz" link in the "Quiz Generator" page. The Quiz Generator will create a Zip file, which you when then download to your computer and then import into your Blackboard 6 or Blackboard 7 Pool Manager: For each question you create, you must type the number of the question and then a period. Then you will press the spacebar once and type the question. After the quesion you will press your spacebar once and type the letter of the first answer, if you are writing a multiple choice or multiple answer question. Then you will press your enter key once after each answer and then twice to begin the next question. Copy the following text into Notepad if you want to create a eight-question quiz of multiple choice, multiple answer, true-false, ordering, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and essay. If you type a fill-in-the-blank question, such as "The name of the country this quiz is _____," be sure to type several options if you are going to allow several different answers, such as "United States," "America," or "The United States of America" (without any punctuation marks). Misspelled words or incorrect capitalization will not be allowed unless you list words with alternate spellings or capitalization. 1. Replace these words with your first multiple choice question. 2. Type your second multiple choice question here. 3. Type your multiple answer question here. 4. Type your true-false statement here. ord 5. Type your question here. BL 6. Type your question here. mat 7. Type your question here. 8. Type your essay question here. When you have finished typing your quiz in Notepad (Note: You can also type the quiz first in Microsoft Word and then copy and paste the quiz into Notepad), click the link below and follow the directions onscreen. You will be asked to give your quiz a name, paste the contents of the quiz into a textbox, and submit the quiz. If your quiz is created correctly, you will receive a new page with a link to download the quiz. You will then open the Blackboard Pool Manager from the Control Panel and import the pool of questions. You will then use the Blackboard Quiz Manager to create the quiz from the new Blackboard Pool. |
